22 October 2017

Hi friends! Anther week has flown by, and here we are thinking it over. Realizing that it has gone by WAY to fast and we are 1 week closer to our move, 1 week closer to seeing family, and 1 week closer to saying bye to friends here. Crazy, crazy, crazy!

We had quite a fun week. We have loved going to the library, so much so that we go twice a week. They host a great homeschool group on Mondays that we have enjoyed going to. About 5 other families come and the librarians split the kids up and do different activities based on their age and interests. And then we do a science experiment or something like that together. This week we talked about cancer awareness and were able to each release a balloon to remember all those that have died because of cancer. Kylie understood what was going on, and it stirred on a lot of questions. I love that she wants to understand things, why things happen, how they happen, what can we do about it. Questions like that. Sometimes they are hard to answer, like why have so many people died from cancer and why do woman need to get screened for breast cancer. and what does that mean? Insert uhhh face here. But it was a good chance to get to talk about the tougher topics and help her understand things a little bit more than i would have if I was left to myself.  One of the librarians has claimed Londyn as her honorary grand daughter and just loves to cuddle her when we come in. She has been telling all the kids to whisper in Robs ear "Louisiana" at night so he will bring us back here for work. She's a cute lady that we love.

We went to the pumpkin bash put on by the library on Saturday with Rob. It was so much fun. There are 8 different libraries in the area so each one had a game for the kids to play and then at the end each kid got a free book. And little miss won a trophy for the cutest kid age 0-2 years! She waved at the judges as we were walking past and just smiled from ear to ear, and now loves chewing on her trophy! And we couldn't leave with out a picture in the fire truck.

After a quick siesta we went to the River Walk festival. They had a live band, AMAZING!!! Something so fun about the south is the music that accompanies each festival or activity. So many little bands that want to get their name out there so they come to these small town activities and play and its a blast. There were lots of different little shops selling trinkets and food and then a line up of food trucks. We ended up catching the tail end of the festival so the food trucks were getting rid of all the food...for free! That's become my favorite word lately. So we each enjoyed a gourmet cupcake and cheesecake parfait. Mmmm...Mmmm...mmmmm I'm drooling thinking about the cheese cake!

Kylie had the chance to go to the childrens museum for their halloween party with a family in the ward and got vampire teeth. She couldn't wait to try and scare me with them! She is such a blast.

And we ended the weekend with the primary program. The kids did such a great job. Kylie read her part! (proud mama) even though she had it memorized she decided to read it and Max did awesome reciting his part. We have spent time every morning singing the songs and going over their parts and it definitely paid off. The kids knew them and the spirit was able to flow out of their mouths as they were singing. I loved it! And it was my first time playing the piano for a program. Remember how happy I was that we were leaving Nephi so I wouldn't have to play for the program...well I'm so glad that I had all the practice this summer so I could play out here. Primary is where our testimonies begin. The songs are full of the fundamentals of my life. It has been so great to remember them and feel the truthfulness coming out as the kids sang each Sunday and as I practiced during the week. I loved it!
